UAE Bed Sheet Size Chart
Twin / Single Bed Sheet Size
A single bed in the UAE measures 90 x 190cm. This is the standard size for guest rooms, children’s bedrooms and studio apartments. Single bed sheet sets typically include a fitted sheet, flat sheet and one pillowcase, since single beds are designed for one sleeper.
Full / Double Bed Sheet Size
A double bed measures 120 x 190cm in the UAE. Note this is significantly narrower than a UK double (135 x 190cm), a common mistake for expats ordering from UK retailers. Double beds are common in smaller bedrooms and secondary rooms across Dubai apartments.
Queen Bed Sheet Size
Queen size in the UAE is 160 x 200cm, one of the most popular sizes for couples in apartments where space is at a premium. Not to be confused with a UK Double, which is smaller and a completely different standard.
King Bed Sheet Size
UAE King size is 198 x 204cm. This is the most common bed size in Dubai master bedrooms. Important: this is different from a UK King (150 x 200cm) and a US King (193 x 203cm) — always check which standard you’re buying against before ordering from international retailers.
California King and Emperor
California King measures 180 x 215cm, narrower than standard King but noticeably longer. This extra length is why California King beds are typically chosen by taller sleepers who need more legroom than a standard King provides. Emperor (215 x 215cm) is the largest size, common in larger villas and luxury master bedrooms. If your bed feels unusually large, measure it before assuming it’s a standard King — many larger properties in Dubai use these bigger sizes.
Why Pocket Depth Matters as Much as Length and Width
UAE mattresses often run deeper than the standard sheets sold internationally are designed for, sometimes up to 35-40cm deep. A fitted sheet with a shallow pocket will pop off the corners no matter how correct the length and width measurements are. Always check the pocket depth specification, not just the mattress dimensions, before ordering.
How to Measure Your Own Mattress
Measure length and width at the mattress surface, then measure the depth from the top of the mattress straight down to the base. Round up rather than down if you’re between sizes, since a slightly looser fitted sheet is far better than one that won’t stretch over the corners.
